Three Projects | One Diagram
The five-walled villa shares a diagram with two other projects designed in our studio, Arak and Yazd Council of Architects. The combination of all three is mass| void| mass.
Urban Structure / The Grid
The first mass in all of them is occupied by the main function, which in the councils is a public facility and in the villa, residential. The second smaller mass serves different functions in each of the projects, including facilities or ramps. In the five-walled villa, the mass is a wall, not providing any function, merely serving as an architectural element.
The Void and Its Role in Architecture
The fifth wall of the project is devoid of any function, serving only as a backdrop. The project’s three parts—the masses and the void—work as individual elements. These parts can be removed or replaced with other objects or spaces without losing the coherence of the design.
